You discover
Newhouse Farm by going down narrow lanes and through a ford in the shadow
of Beacon Fell. Goosnargh is a remarkable village known for its famous
Goosnargh ducks and chickens and Goosnargh Cake sold at the local post
office, as well at its cheese makers. Since 1923, three generations of
Shorrocks have nurtured their Tasty Lancashire made with raw milk from
their own Hillchapel pedigree Friesian herd. This was a mixed farm where
cheese making was part of the farm's activities and the cheese room and
store is a model of self sufficiency. |
